I added two additional parameters - “Reference Start Date” and “Reference End Date” - that allow the user to select the start and end for the reference period. I’ve made some slight modifications already. The # of days included in one period doesn’t necessarily have to match the number in the second. I would like the user to be able to adjust the start and end dates for both the “current” and “reference” periods. Yes, I’m looking for the ability to show, say, January 1, 2014-Jand April 1, 2014-Septemas two separate overlapping lines on the graph.

You can find it in the blogpost Different time series on the same axis made easier NOTE: I’ve found a different technique for creating a similar result which is much easier to implement. Do some formatting to make the graph look the way you want it.
